One of Gavin’s (Our Spirits Buyer) favorite tequilas for a moderate price point. A very unique distillery being that it’s run by an entirely female crew from the jimadors, all the way to the Master Distiller, Melly Barajas. Aged in reused American whiskey barrels (Jack Daniles & Balcones) for 8 months before bottling. The aging is intended only to soften and round out the blanco tequila, not to introduce new notes. La Gritona tequila is known for its balance of sweet and spicy notes. It has a smooth and creamy texture with a slight sweetness from the agave, which is complimented by notes of vanilla, caramel, pepper, and clove, that give the tequila a pleasant kick. Fully sustainable, traditionally made, and the best part~ you’re paying for the quality of what’s inside, not the marketing. The bottles are hand blown with recycled Mexican glass, sourced an hour away from the distillery.
